This teleclass series is designed to assist individuals who are thinking of starting their own businesses. The primary target audience is the individual who has entrepreneurial aspirations, but not the resources to research, plan, and develop a business idea.
Objective
The objective of this workshop is to introduce individuals to the considerations of becoming an entrepreneur. By the end of the series, the participant should be able to:
- Define an entrepreneur
- Define a small business
- Examine his/her fitness for a small business
- Consider personal, legal, ethical, and financial aspects that will impact the business
- Explore reasons for business failure/identify risks/difficulties
- Be aware of the benefits of entrepreneurship
- Identify resources and services to support business functions
